Dawlish House provides care for up to three young people aged 8–17 of any gender who may have experienced trauma, neglect, or disrupted family relationships.
Dawlish House is able to consider placements that are both planned and crisis-based admissions. We understand the importance of planning for young people and the fact that any move for a child or young person can be distressing. We look to make this transition as comfortable as possible by taking into account the needs of the individual child/young person.
We welcome referrals from local authorities for children experiencing Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. Most of our placements are planned, and the child or young person is properly prepared prior to their placement. Informal discussions on the suitability of a placement either by telephone or a visit are always welcomed. The child, parents and social worker are actively encouraged to make an informal visit to the home prior to the accommodation.
Agreement for such placements will be determined by the extent of any perceived risk for residents at the home. An impact assessment is completed to determine these risks and suitability.
Come and see for yourself our beautiful house and facilities.
We’d love to see you.
